Kia Farms Llp is set up in the MIDC Industrial Estate over in Murbad at Plot No M80. Being in an industrial area means there is always a lot of noise and trucks moving around, which suits us just fine. It feels like a place where things actually get built or grown or moved. Our spot on Plot M80 is where we handle the farm management and the business side of what we do. It’s a practical building, mostly just concrete and metal, built to handle the work rather than to look pretty for visitors. We have a small crew here and everyone knows their job. Murbad can get quite rainy during the monsoon, and the industrial estate gets a bit muddy, but we just put on our boots and keep going. We don’t do much in the way of advertising because most people find us through word of mouth in the trade. It’s a lot of checking on equipment and making sure the farm schedules are being followed. We don't have any fancy mission statements or anything, we just want to make sure the work gets done and the yields are what they should be. It’s a straightforward operation here at Kia Farms. We start early in the morning when it’s still cool and usually stay until the last truck is gone for the day. It’s the kind of place where you get your hands a bit dirty and your boots a bit worn out.
