Jyotirling Shikshan Seva Pratisthana

You can find Jyotirling Shikshan Seva Pratisthana in Thane, over at Shree Nagar. We have our setup in the Swami Samarth Co Op Hsg Society, in building A 3. It’s a regular housing colony, so there are always kids playing outside and neighbors chatting near the gate. We use one of the units as our main base. It’s not a huge office, but it’s enough for what we do. Mostly, we focus on educational things and helping out people in the community who need a hand with school stuff or documents. The rooms are filled with stacks of books and sometimes old desks we’ve collected. It feels more like a community center than a formal office. We don’t have a big budget, so we fix things ourselves when they break. The people who work here are mostly volunteers or locals who live nearby and want to help out. On weekends, it gets quite busy with people coming in to ask for advice or sign up for programs. We don’t have a mission statement on the wall or anything like that. We just try to be useful to the folks in Shree Nagar and the surrounding parts of Thane. It’s a lot of paperwork and a lot of talking, but it’s good to be part of the neighborhood. The fan makes a bit of a clicking sound, but we’ve gotten used to it. We keep the doors open for anyone who needs us.
