This office is located in the Vinayprabha Building, which is part of Colony No. 2 at the JSW Steel site in Vasind village. It is way out in the Shahpur Taluka of Thane. We are at B 227. It’s a busy place because the steel plant is right there, and there is always something moving. The building itself is just a standard residential-style block that’s been put to use for our needs. We have a lot of people coming in and out because the colony houses so many workers. It gets pretty humid here, especially during the rainy season when the Bhatsa river is high. The walls in the building could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven't really had the time to worry about that. We focus more on getting through the daily tasks. There isn’t a big sign out front, just the unit number. People mostly find us by asking the security at the colony gate. It’s a tight-knit community here. You can’t really go for a walk without running into someone you work with. We keep a simple schedule and don't spend much on anything that isn't necessary. It’s a functional space in a very industrial part of Maharashtra. We’ve been here long enough that the sounds of the plant in the background just feel like silence to us now.
