We are based out in Vasind, which is part of the Shahpur Taluka in the Thane district. Our specific spot is in the Jindal Colony No 2, in the Saryu Building, room B-106. Being out here in the colony means it’s a bit of a trek from the main Thane city, but it’s a lot quieter and greener. The building is one of the older ones in the residential complex, but it’s sturdy. Living and working in the colony has a specific rhythm. Everyone knows everyone else, and you see the same faces every morning at the gate. The commute to the site isn’t bad since we are already right here. In the monsoon, this whole area gets very wet and the clouds hang low over the hills nearby. It’s a bit of a mess with the mud sometimes, but we’re used to it. The office itself is pretty basic. We’ve got some old chairs and desks that have been around since the place opened. We don’t really bother with decorating or making it look like a corporate headquarters. It’s just a place to keep the paperwork organized and have a central point for the team to meet up. Most of the guys just drop in to sign some forms and then head out to the pipes area. It’s a very local, straightforward way of doing things.
