Jijamata Seeds Producer Company Limited is run from the house of Shri Bhikaji V. Bajad in Netansa. It’s a small village in the Risod taluka. We are a producer company, which means it’s a collective of us farmers working together. We don’t have a big office building in a city. We just use the space we have here at the house in Netansa. 444403 is the pincode for this area. People just walk up to the door when they need to talk about seeds or the company business. We have some ledgers and a lot of seed samples kept in the side rooms. It’s a very local operation. We know everyone who comes by, and they know us. Shri Bajad has been kind enough to let the company operate from his place. Most of our meetings happen sitting on the porch or in the main room. We talk about the rain and how the crops are doing while we sort through the paperwork. It’s a lot of responsibility to manage a seed company for the whole community. We don't have any fancy signs or a receptionist. We just have our names on the documents and the work we do in the fields. It’s a slow pace of life but the work is steady. We are just trying to keep the seed supply moving for the people in Risod.
