Thane is pretty crowded these days, especially with all the new construction, but our workshop has stayed in the same spot for quite a bit. Dealing with steel treatment is tough work. It gets really hot near the furnaces and the noise is something you just have to get used to after a week or two. We spend our time hardening metal and making sure the heat cycles are right so the steel does not go brittle. It is not the kind of job where you wear a suit. Most of us are in overalls and covered in a bit of soot by the end of the shift. India has a lot of demand for treated steel right now, so we stay fairly busy through the week. We do not have a big corporate marketing team or anything like that. It is just a bunch of guys who know how to handle fire and metal. Sometimes the equipment acts up and we have to spend the whole weekend fixing a burner, but that is part of the life here. We just focus on the orders we have on the floor. If the steel comes out right, the customer is happy and we can move on to the next batch.
