Our office in Kalwa is located on the fourth floor of Manidham Apartment. It’s right behind the Bank of India on Station Road. Being so close to the station means it is always noisy with the sound of trains and the crowds of people rushing to catch the local. If you work here, you get used to the rhythm of the railway. We have a few rooms converted into an office for Ispat Industries Ltd. It’s not a huge space, but we make it work. The fourth floor gives us a bit of a breeze if we leave the balcony door open, though the dust from the road comes in too. We spend our days answering phones and dealing with the paperwork for the steel business. It’s honest work. The desks are a bit crowded together, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it doesn't stop us from getting things done. We usually go downstairs to the small stalls for lunch or a quick coffee. Kalwa West is a busy place, and being right on Station Road means we are always in the thick of it. We don't have any fancy meetings. It’s just a lot of talking to drivers and checking inventories. It is a practical setup for people who just want to get their jobs done without any fuss. It’s mostly just us and the sound of the trains.
