Independent Consultant

I’m over in Sagar Krupa, which is part of the Gaondevi housing society on Ghanshyam Gupte Road in Dombivli West. It’s in the Thane district, a bit of a way out from the main city hub. My work as an independent consultant happens right here in apartment 404. I don’t have a fancy office suite or anything like that. It’s just a room with my computer and a lot of notebooks. I’ve lived in Dombivli for a long time, and I like that I can work without having to deal with the local train commute every single day. My work involves a lot of sitting and thinking. I don’t have any employees to delegate things to, so everything rests on my shoulders. If I don't do it, it doesn't get done. The neighborhood is fairly typical, with sounds of the market and traffic drifting in. I don’t have a professional secretary or a marketing plan. I just rely on word of mouth. Sometimes I work late into the night when it’s quieter outside. The desk is usually a mess of papers and half-empty tea cups. It’s an honest way to get by. I don't try to pretend I'm a big firm. It’s just me, working from home, trying to keep my clients happy and my files in order. It’s simple and it works for my lifestyle. I take things as they come and try to stay productive through the week.
