Our office is tucked away in the Indian Corporation Complex in Bhiwandi. If you know the area, you know how busy it gets near Mankoli Naka. We are right by the Gajanan Petrol Pump, which is the easiest way to tell people how to find us. The building number is 188/6/7, but the complex is huge and full of trucks coming and going at all hours. It gets quite noisy with the heavy vehicles, and the dust is something we just live with. Inside the engineering space, things are a bit more controlled, but it’s still a working warehouse environment. We spend a lot of time checking specs and dealing with the logistics of being in such a major hub. The tea lady comes around twice a day and that’s usually the highlight of the afternoon. The office doesn’t have fancy furniture, just sturdy desks and old computers that still do the job. We have been in this spot for a good bit of time now. The monsoon season is always a challenge because the roads around the complex get pretty muddy. We just wear our old boots and keep at it. It’s not a glamorous job, but we are a tight-knit group and we know how to handle the chaos of Bhiwandi. Most of us live nearby so we don’t have to deal with the long Mumbai commute, which is a plus for everyone involved in the daily operations.
