H B Steel Traders

Down in Jogeshwari West at the Liberty Compound, you’ll find our spot, H B Steel Traders. We are at number 17 in Ghartan Pada, which is a bit of a maze if you aren’t used to the industrial layout around here. It’s a gritty place, always the sound of metal clanging or trucks backing up to load some pipes or sheets. We’ve been trading steel for years, mostly dealing with builders and local contractors who need materials for their projects. The office is small and tucked into a corner of the warehouse area, mostly filled with ledgers and samples of different steel grades. It gets dusty, and in the monsoon, the rain on the tin roofs makes it hard to hear anything, but we keep working through it. Handling steel is heavy work, and our days are usually spent checking inventory and making sure the right lengths are cut for the customers. We don't do much in the way of advertising because word of mouth in the Liberty Compound usually keeps us busy enough. People know where we are if they need reliable supplies. It’s a straightforward business without any bells and whistles. We usually start early in the morning when the cool air is still around before the sun hits the metal and everything gets hot. It’s just how we earn our living, day in and day out, in this part of Mumbai. We focus on the orders and getting the trucks out on time.
