Grace Driving School

Our little shop is Shop No. 18, situated right near Mangla High School in Thane East. Being in this part of Mumbai means there is always a lot of noise and people moving around. We spend most of our time out on the busy streets with students who are trying to learn how to drive. It takes a lot of patience to sit in the passenger seat while someone tries to figure out the gears for the first time. The office itself is quite small, just a place for us to keep the books and for people to sign up for their lessons. We have a couple of plastic chairs where parents or students wait. We don't have any high-tech equipment, just the cars we use for practice every day. Teaching someone to navigate Mumbai traffic is a real challenge, but we’ve been doing it for a long time. We see all kinds of people, from young kids to older folks who finally decided it was time to learn. The rains in Thane can make the roads a mess, but we still go out unless it’s really bad. It is honest, everyday work. We don't have any flashy advertisements. Most people just see our sign near the school and walk in. It is a simple setup, and we just try to be helpful to everyone who wants to get behind the wheel. We just keep the cars maintained and the schedules full.
