Andheriwala Motor Driving School

Running the Andheriwala Motor Driving School over here in Jogeshwari West is never a dull moment. We are located at Shop No 6, right near Diamond Hospital, which is a landmark everyone in this part of Mumbai knows. If you stand outside our door, you’ll see the constant flow of cars and bikes, which is exactly what we deal with every day. Inside the shop, it’s mostly just posters of road signs and a few chairs for people to sit while they wait for their turn. We spend a lot of time explaining how a clutch works or why you shouldn't panic when a bus gets too close. It’s a hands-on kind of job. We aren't trying to be the biggest school in the city; we just want to make sure people don't stall their engines in the middle of a busy junction. The shop itself is small, but it’s where all the paperwork and the talking happens. Sometimes the smell of the hospital or the food stalls nearby drifts in. We know all the local traffic police and the other shopkeepers around here. Dealing with Mumbai drivers requires a lot of patience, and we have plenty of that. We've seen all sorts of people come through our doors, from nervous teenagers to older folks who finally decided it was time to learn. It’s just regular life in Jogeshwari, and we are right in the thick of it.
