Gokul Sweets

Gokul Sweets is located in Masoli. We’ve been here at number 1 for a long time. It’s a simple shop where we make traditional sweets every day. We usually get started long before the sun comes up to make sure everything is fresh for the morning. The smell of sugar and ghee is something you just get used to after a while. We don't have any fancy displays or neon lights. It’s just the glass counters and the trays of whatever we made that day. People in Masoli know us well. We see the same kids coming in after school and the same elders stopping by after their morning walks. We don’t do any delivery or anything like that. If you want something, you have to come down and see us. It’s a small place, so there isn’t much room to sit. Most people just buy a box and head home. We handle everything ourselves, from the heavy lifting of the milk cans to the final packaging. It’s hard on the back, but it’s honest work. We don't use any preservatives or anything like that, so things don't stay on the shelf for long. We just make enough for the day and then we close up. It’s a quiet way to live, but we like being the local sweet shop for the neighborhood. It's been in the family since we can remember.
