We’re over at T-58 in the Rajmata Industrial Co Society, which is part of the MIDC area. Dealing in steel means we have a lot of heavy inventory sitting around. We have stacks of pipes, sheets, and rods in different sizes and grades. The yard is usually full, and we use a small crane to move the heavier stuff around. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes when we get a big shipment in and have to find space for it. People come to us when they need specific lengths for their own projects or construction. We spend a lot of time on the phone checking prices and availability. The office is just a small corner partitioned off from the main storage area. It’s got a couple of desks and a lot of binders full of invoices. We get dusty from the metal and the trucks coming in and out of the MIDC all day. Sometimes the weather makes it tough to load things, but we manage. We aren’t a massive company, just a group of people who know our steel. We cut pieces to size when someone asks for it, which means more noise and sparks in the shop. It’s a very practical business. We don’t have fancy displays. People just come in, tell us what they need, we weigh it out, and they take it away. It’s hard work, but we’ve been at it for a while.
