Dr. R K Thakkar

The clinic is located in the Narmada Krupa Building, right at room 104 in Bhayander East. It is a pretty standard setup where people from the local neighborhood come when they aren't feeling too well. I have been practicing medicine here for years, and these walls have seen plenty of patients come and go. Every morning starts with checking the appointment book and seeing who is already waiting in the hallway outside. It can get a bit crowded in the small waiting area, especially during the monsoon season when everyone seems to have a bad cough or a fever. We have a few chairs out there and some old magazines for people to look at, though most just look at their phones while they wait their turn. The exam room is where most of the day is spent, listening to heartbeats and writing out prescriptions on those small white pads. It is not a fancy hospital, just a local doctor’s office where we know many of the families by their names because they have lived in Bhayander for a long time. Sometimes the fans overhead make a bit of noise, and the traffic outside on the main road can be quite loud, but once the door is shut, it is just about focusing on the person sitting across from the desk. We try to keep the place clean and orderly, though the files always seem to pile up no matter how much we organize them at the end of the shift.
