Dapm Farmer Producer Company Limited. Apegaon, Paithan. Our company is based in Apegaon, which is a place with a lot of history near Paithan. Dnyanadev Annasaheb’s place is where we handle the business. We are all farmers from this area. The Godavari river is nearby, so the land is decent, but that doesn't mean life is easy. We formed Dapm because we saw that we were getting pennies for crops that cost a lot to grow. It’s just how things are for small farmers. Now, we try to pool our resources. We might buy fertilizer together to save a bit of money, or share a tractor when someone’s breaks down. The paperwork for a producer company is quite a lot, and we aren't always great at it, but we make sure the basics are covered. We meet up and talk about the market rates in Aurangabad and whether it’s worth taking the crop there today or waiting. It’s a very local thing. Most of us have been farming since we were young. There’s no big mystery to what we do. We grow crops, we try to sell them, and we try to make sure everyone in the group gets a fair share. It’s just honest work under the sun. Sometimes the crops fail, and we sit together and figure out what to do next. We just hope for a good harvest and fair prices for our families.
