Dadabhaunik Farmer Producer Companylimited is located in Aurala, which is out in the Kannad area of Aurangabad. We operate from Bhausaheb Narayan Nikam’s house, specifically H. No. 90. It’s a small place, but it’s enough for what we need. Kannad is a place where everyone knows everyone, so news travels fast. We started this because we wanted to have a collective voice for the farmers in our village and the surrounding spots. It is not some big, polished organization. Most of the time, it’s just Bhausaheb and a couple of others sitting on the porch or in the front room, going over the numbers. We deal with the typical issues you find in Aurangabad farming—waiting for the monsoon and hoping the market prices don't drop too low. Our company is really just a way for us to stick together. We don't use any fancy talk or marketing. If someone has a problem with their crop, they just come over to the house and we talk it through. It’s a very local, very human way of doing things. There are days when the electricity is out and we have to do everything by hand, but that’s just part of the deal. We are just regular people from Aurala trying to make things a little more stable for our families and our friends who work the land.
