Our office is over in Sector 1 of Vashi, right at B 23. It’s one of those older parts of Navi Mumbai where everything feels a bit more settled in. We’ve got the two other partners working out of here too, so the space gets a bit cramped when everyone is in at the same time. There are always rolls of blueprints leaning against the walls and boots left by the door because we’re often coming back from some site or another. The air conditioner makes a bit of a rattling noise, but we’ve stopped noticing it. Vashi is a good spot for us because we can get to most places in the city pretty quickly, assuming the traffic behaves. We don't spend a lot of time on decorating or making things look impressive for visitors. It’s just a place where we handle the logistics and the payroll and argue over schedules. Sometimes we have tea brought in from the place downstairs. Most of our day is spent on the phone or looking at maps. It's been this way for years, just moving from one project to the next and keeping the files organized in those big old metal cabinets. It feels like a second home to most of us by now. We don't have a big sign out front, just the address and our name on the door like everyone else in the building.
