Brainworks

Brainworks is located at Plot Number 37 in the M.I.D.C area of Dombivli East. Being in an industrial zone in Thane, the surroundings are mostly factories and warehouses. It’s not where you’d expect a school, but it works well for the parents who have jobs in the nearby units. The building is a functional space that we have turned into a center for learning. We have several rooms divided by partitions to keep the different groups separate. It gets quite busy in the mornings when people are heading to work and dropping off their kids at the same time. The air always has that industrial smell to it, but inside we keep things clean and tidy. We have some colorful mats on the floor and small chairs for the younger ones. There isn’t a big outdoor area, so we do most of the activities inside. The staff here is used to the hustle of Dombivli. We don't have a big reception area, just a small desk where we keep the register. Most of our communication with parents happens at the door during pickup. It’s a very practical setup for a working-class neighborhood. We don't put on any acts; we just provide a space for the kids while the town around us keeps moving. The fans run all day to keep the heat away. It’s a simple, honest place to be for the local families.
