Blue Whale Nature Association

Blue Whale Nature Association is based out in Kalwa, Thane. We don't have a big fancy office building; we mostly operate from a small space here. Our focus is really on the local environment and the nature around Thane. A lot of us who started this just live nearby and wanted to do something useful. We spend a lot of time outdoors or meeting in small groups to talk about local trees, birds, and the water. It’s not a corporate thing at all. Most of the people involved are volunteers who have regular jobs but care about the green spaces in Kalwa. Sometimes we have a lot of paperwork to deal with, which isn't the fun part, but it has to be done to keep the association going. We don't have a lot of money for big projects, so we do what we can with what we have. People in the neighborhood know us as the folks who are always worrying about the park or the creek. It’s a humble setup. We don't have a uniform or a polished presentation. If you come to find us in Kalwa, you'll see we are just regular people. We keep our records in old cabinets and spend more time talking to neighbors than writing reports. It's just a small group of people trying to make a little bit of a difference in our corner of Thane.
