Ambika Steel Furniture

Our workshop is located at Vasai Phata, in the Parmar Techno Center. We are in Unit 23 of Phase 2. If you know the Western Express Highway, it’s a major landmark for us. Working in Vasai East means we are right in the middle of a lot of industrial activity. We make steel furniture, so there is always the sound of metal being cut or welded. It’s a noisy and messy environment, but we like it that way. Our hands are usually covered in dust or grease by the end of the shift. We make things like cupboards, racks, and benches. It’s solid stuff that lasts. We don't have a designer office; we have a workspace where we get things done. The office part is just a desk in the corner with a computer and a lot of sketches. We often have customers coming in to see the work in progress. It’s a small team, and we all know how to handle the tools. Sometimes the delivery trucks have trouble finding our specific unit in the complex, so we spend a lot of time giving directions over the phone. We don't use fancy words to describe what we do. We just work with steel and make sure the joints are strong. It's rewarding to see a finished piece of furniture go out on a truck.
