Chefdoeuvre Designs

Our place is at No: 32 on Alapakkam Main Road in Maduravoyal. We are right opposite Chandra Publication, which makes us easy to spot if you’re driving through the area. Maduravoyal is always moving, and the road outside our office is rarely quiet. Inside, we have a setup for our design work that’s mostly just functional. We have a couple of large tables for looking at big prints and some computers for the 3D work. It’s a bit of a lived-in space—there might be some old tea cups sitting around or piles of sketches from a project we finished last month. We don't spend money on fancy decor for ourselves; we’d rather spend that time working on the drawings. A typical day for us involves a lot of phone calls to site supervisors and looking through catalogs for the right materials. We’re a small team, so when things get busy, everyone is pitching in to get the job done. We like the grit of Maduravoyal and the way the neighborhood is constantly changing. We don’t have a scripted way of talking to people; we just tell it like it is and try to get the designs to a point where they actually work in the real world. It’s just us, some paper, and a lot of work to do. Sometimes we have to shout a bit to be heard over the trucks on Alapakkam Main Road, but that’s just part of being in Maduravoyal.
