Giri Granites

Our place, Giri Granites, sits on Sy No 23/1 and 24/1 along Chukkalur Road. We are based in Chinna Polamada Village, which is a lot quieter than the busy city centers nearby. It’s a fairly large plot where we keep all our granite stock out in the open. The area is mostly open fields and a few other industrial sites scattered around. We’ve been working out here for quite a while now. Most of the people who work here are from the village or the surrounding areas. We don't have a big fancy office building, just a small metal shed where we keep the records and take our tea breaks. The work is mostly outdoors, so we are always at the mercy of the weather. When it’s sunny, the granite gets really hot to the touch and the glare is strong. We don't do any real advertising. People usually hear about us from their neighbors or contractors who have bought stone from us before. It’s a very manual job, moving these heavy slabs around with the crane or by hand when we have to. We try to keep the yard organized, but it often ends up a bit messy with stone scraps and dust everywhere. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to sell our stone and keep things running. It’s a simple life out here in Chinna Polamada.
