Zala Dayalal

I am Dayalal and I spend most of my time here at Udhna Pani Gate. My place is located near Mahadevnagar II. It is a busy part of town and there is always something going on outside my window. I have been in this location for quite some time now. I started out with just a few items and a small table, and slowly it turned into a real business. It is not a polished place. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint and the floor is a bit worn down from people coming in and out. I don’t mind it though. It feels like home to me. I handle all the work that comes through. Sometimes my son comes by to help when there is too much for one person to do. We don’t have a big sign or anything. Most people know where to find me just by word of mouth. I like the independence of running my own shop. I get to decide when I open and when I go home to eat. The area around the Pani Gate has a lot of energy. I know the other shopkeepers around here and we usually share some tea in the afternoons. It is a simple life, but it keeps me occupied. I don’t have any big plans to expand or move. I like it right where I am. Just a local man doing local work.
