We are located up on the 3rd floor at No. 450 in Katargam New G.I.D.C. It’s quite near the Gajera School, so we hear the school bell and the kids playing sometimes during their breaks. Being in the G.I.D.C. means we are surrounded by other workshops and businesses. Our floor is usually buzzing with the sound of sewing machines. We deal with fashion and clothing, so there are rolls of fabric everywhere and bits of thread on the floor. It gets pretty warm up here on the third floor, especially in the afternoons, so we keep the fans going at full speed. We do not have a showroom or anything fancy. It’s mostly a production space where we get the clothes made. Our team consists of people who have been sewing for years. They move fast and know exactly what they are doing. We spend our days checking patterns and making sure the stitching is right. It’s a lot of sitting and focused work. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish an order, but we don't mind the extra hours when the business is good. The stairs are a bit steep, so we do not go down more than we have to during the shift. Most of the time, we are just busy with the fabric and the machines. It is a simple operation, but we stay busy all year round. The fashion business is fast, but we just take it one garment at a time.
