Yashica Fashions

Yashica Fashions is up on the second floor, unit D 3017, right on Ring Road. Being on the second floor means we don't get as many random people walking in as the ground floor shops do. Most people who come up here are looking for something specific or have been here before. It’s a bit of a climb if the lift is busy, which happens more often than I’d like. The space is decent, enough for us to display what we have without it feeling too squeezed. We focus on various types of fashion items, mostly focusing on what’s currently available from the wholesalers nearby. It can get quite hot in the afternoons since the sun hits this side of the building. We have a couple of fans going to keep the air moving. I usually spend the mornings checking the inventory and the afternoons helping whoever comes in. It’s a lot of folding and re-folding clothes because things get messy quickly. We’ve been in this building for a few years now. The neighbors are mostly other small businesses, so we all know each other's schedules. We don't really do any big advertising. Word of mouth seems to work okay for us. It’s just a practical way to run a business without getting overwhelmed. We just show up every morning, open the shutters, and see what the day brings. It’s hard work but it’s what we do. It gets easier over time.
