Working on Ring Road means you get used to the noise and the constant flow of people looking for deals. We deal with piles of clothes here every single day. Boxes arrive early in the morning and we spend hours sorting through them. It isn't a quiet boutique where you sit and have tea. Most of the time, the floor is covered in plastic wrapping and tape. We sell to a lot of different shop owners who come in from all over. The racks are always stuffed with new designs and sometimes it's hard to find space to even walk. We try to keep things organized but when the new stock lands, it’s a bit of a scramble. The traffic outside never seems to stop and that’s just life on Ring Road. We’ve got regulars who have been coming to us for years and they know exactly where to find what they need. It’s a fast pace and we don't have time for fancy talk. We just show the samples and get the bundles ready for shipping. Sometimes the lights are a bit dim in the back but we know the inventory by heart. It’s a lot of lifting and packing, and at the end of the day, we’re just tired. We like the bustle though. It keeps the day moving fast and there is never a dull moment when the new seasons start. We usually keep the shutters half-down when we are doing inventory.
