Our place is down in the lower ground at Naik Nagar, right on LBS Marg. Being on the Ring Road means there is always noise from the vehicles passing by, but you get used to it after a while. It’s unit 144, so it’s not hard to find if you know the area. We do a lot of fashion work here, mostly focusing on getting the details right on whatever is on the table that day. The space is a bit tight with all the materials and tools lying around, but it works for us. We aren't trying to be some high-end boutique with bright lights and fancy carpets. It’s a workspace first and foremost. Sometimes the lighting isn't perfect, and we have to move things around to see better. Most days are spent cutting fabric or checking the finish on a piece. It’s a lot of sitting and concentrated work. We drink a lot of tea to keep going through the long afternoons. Customers come down the stairs and we show them what we're working on. It’s straightforward. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us making sure the orders are ready when they need to be. It gets pretty warm in the summer down here, but we have a couple of fans that do the job well enough for now. Sometimes the deliveries get mixed up because the Ring Road is so busy, but we sort it out eventually.
