Our shop is down on the lower ground floor of the New Textile Market, at unit number 129. This is right near Sahara Darwaja on Ring Road. Being on the lower ground floor means it stays a little cooler than the units higher up, which is nice during the summer months. The New Textile Market is always bustling with people, and there’s a lot of shouting and moving of goods. Our space is packed with the latest fashions we’ve brought in. It’s a bit of a jumble sometimes because we have so much stuff in such a small area. We have racks of clothes and shelves full of bags. We don't have any professional decorators; we just put things where they fit. We spend most of the day talking to people who come down to the lower ground floor looking for a deal. It’s a very social environment. You get to know the other shop owners nearby. We usually have a fan pointed at the counter and a small radio playing. It’s not a glamorous job, but we enjoy the pace of it. Ring Road is always crazy, but once you get down into the market, it feels like its own little world. We’re just here every day, making sure things are in order and waiting for the next customer to walk through the door. It keeps us busy.
