Veena Fashion is tucked away on the first floor of the Surat Textile Market. We are in shop M-2273. Ring Road in Surat is a hectic place, but once you get up to the first floor, it’s a tiny bit quieter than the street level. We’ve been operating from this spot in Gujarat for a while now. It’s a small shop, but we fit a lot of inventory into it. Most of the day is spent sorting through clothes and taking care of the notebooks. We aren't a big company with hundreds of employees. It's just a local operation. We like being in the Surat Textile Market because everyone in the industry is right here. You walk out the door and see everything happening at once. The stairs up to the first floor can be a bit steep when you’re carrying heavy bags, but you get used to it. We don’t have any fancy mission statements or anything of that sort. We just open up in the morning and do what needs doing. It's a bit of a trek to get through the Ring Road traffic, but we make it work. The shop is filled with various items we’ve collected over the weeks. We don’t really have time for polished presentations. It’s just us, some chairs, and the stock. People come in, look at what we have, and we talk. That’s how we’ve always done it. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy every single day.
