Vandana Creation

We are located at No. 56 on the 3rd floor. You have to come down to Shree Ram Chowk in Katragam to find us. It is near the Kosad area, which stays pretty crowded most of the day. Being on the third floor means we get a bit of a breeze sometimes, which is nice when the machines are running hot. We call it Vandana Creation, but it’s really just a few of us working together in a couple of rooms. The floor is usually covered in bits of fabric and patterns drawn on paper. We spend a lot of time just making sure the cuts are straight. It’s not a place with a receptionist or fancy chairs. You’ll probably find us hunched over a table or talking to a supplier on the phone. We’ve been in Katragam for a while now and know the local rhythm. The climb up the stairs keeps us fit, I suppose. Sometimes the elevator in the building acts up, so we end up carrying rolls of cloth up by hand. It’s hard work, but we don’t think about it much. We just start at 9 and keep going until the work is done for the day. It’s a simple setup. We have our regulars who know where to find us, and that’s enough. The view of the chowk from the window is always interesting, watching the traffic below while we work on the latest designs. It’s a decent way to spend a day.
