Vandan Shree Fashions

Finding us isn't too hard if you know the Khatodara area well enough. We are up on the 508 Upper Ground Floor. It's a solid building, though the stairs can be a bit much if you’re carrying a lot of bags. We’ve been running Vandan Shree Fashions out of this space for a good bit of time. The room is filled with rolls of cloth and different patterns we’re working on. It’s not a corporate office with air conditioning everywhere; it’s more of a place where people actually work. You’ll find scraps of thread on the floor and half-finished garments on the tables. We spend most of our mornings just organizing what needs to be cut and what’s ready for the next step. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when three things are happening at once, but we manage to get through the day. The light coming through the windows in the afternoon is actually quite nice for matching colors. We aren't trying to be the biggest place in town, just a steady one. Most of the people who work here live nearby, so we know each other's families and what's going on in the neighborhood. It’s just how we do things here in Khatodara. We have our coffee breaks together and then get back to the machines. It’s noisy but it’s our noise. We try to keep the place tidy, but when shipments come in, there are boxes everywhere for a few days.
