Valam Travels

Our place, Valam Travels, is at Shop No 94/2 in Vallabh Nagar, right on Varachha Road. It’s a busy street, but we’ve got our little corner. The office isn't much to look at. We have some sturdy desks and old chairs that have been around for years. We don't see the need for fancy decorations. We’re here to work, mostly on travel arrangements for folks in the area. Some days it’s quiet and we just sit and wait for the phone to ring. Other days, everyone comes in at once and it’s a bit of a scramble. We handle a lot of local travel, people going to see family in other parts of the state. It’s a lot of manual work, writing things down and checking the computer screens until our eyes get tired. We don't have any big "philosophy" or anything. We just want to get the job done so the customer is happy and we can go home at the end of the shift. The traffic on Varachha Road is always something to talk about. Sometimes it’s so loud we have to close the door just to hear ourselves think. We have a small water cooler in the corner and a calendar that we forget to flip sometimes. It’s just a normal, everyday business. We take things as they come and try not to get too stressed when things get busy or the internet slows down.
