Our shop is tucked away inside the Padmavati Textile Market on Ring Road. If you’ve ever been to this market, you know how chaotic it gets. There are people hauling bundles of cloth everywhere and scooters zooming by in the narrow lanes. We have a small unit here where we keep our fashion stocks. It’s mostly stacks of clothes and plastic bags filled with new arrivals. We spend a lot of time talking to wholesalers and making sure we have enough variety on the racks. The walls are a bit scuffed from moving boxes around, but we don't really care about how the place looks as long as the work gets done. It’s a noisy environment with everyone shouting prices and greeting each other across the hallways. We’ve been part of this market for years. We know the chai wallah who comes by at 4 PM and we know the other shopkeepers nearby. We don’t have a website or any of that stuff. We just open the shop in the morning and wait for customers to come through the door. Some days are slow and we just sit and talk, while other days we don't even have time to eat lunch. It’s just the way it goes in the textile business. We keep things simple and try not to overcomplicate our day. The lightbulb in the back flickers sometimes, but we haven't gotten around to changing it yet.
