Getting up to the second floor of V G P Sadan takes a minute, but it’s a quiet spot once you’re inside. We are located at 1/1235 on Ardeshar Kotwal Road. It’s easy to tell people we are right behind the State Bank of India in Nanpura because everyone knows that landmark. Timaliya Wad is right there too, and Dr Manekji Street is just around the corner. The building has that old Surat feel to it, solid and dependable. We’ve been operating from here for some time, handling whatever consultancy work comes through the door. The street outside can get a bit crowded with parked scooters, especially during bank hours. Inside, it’s mostly just desks covered in papers and the sound of typing. We try to keep things simple here. No one wears suits unless they really have to. We just sit down with whoever comes in and look at what needs doing. It’s a local operation, and we like being in this part of town because it feels central. Sometimes we grab tea from the stall downstairs when things get slow. It’s not a flashy office with glass walls or anything. It’s a practical space where we spend our hours sorting out details. Being near the bank is actually quite handy for a lot of our visitors. We just keep our heads down and do the work. The fans hum along while we sort through the daily mail.
