We’ve been here at Millenium Market for a while now. If you know the Shubhlaxmi Society area near Pani Gate, you know how busy it gets. Every morning starts about the same, unlocking the shutters and getting the dust off the counters before the first people show up. It’s a lot of work handling the textiles and making sure things are where they should be in the racks. The Ring Road traffic is always something else, you can hear it from inside the shop most of the day. We mostly spend our time sorting through new stock or talking to the folks who drop by looking for something specific. Sometimes the tea guy comes around and that’s a nice break for us. It isn't a fancy place, just a regular spot in a big market where we do our business. We see a lot of faces, some regulars and some just passing through the market for the first time. The lights in here are a bit bright but you get used to it after a few hours. Most days are long, especially when the new bundles arrive and we have to find space for everything on the shelves. It gets a bit cramped when it's busy but we manage to get through it. My cousin helps out when things get really hectic during the festival times. We just try to keep things moving and get home at a decent hour. It's just how life goes for us in this part of Surat.
