Our shop is right across from Sarvoday Bank on Vasta Devdi Road. If you know the area, it's easy to find because of the bank traffic. It’s a busy corner. We start early because the heat gets bad in the afternoon. Inside, it’s mostly just rows of stock and a few chairs for people to sit. We don't have fancy displays or anything like that. It’s mostly just us working through the orders and helping whoever walks through the door. Sometimes the tea man comes by twice, sometimes he forgets us. We’ve got a lot of stuff piled up near the back because the storage room is small. It’s a bit of a squeeze when more than three people are inside at once. The floor gets swept every morning but by noon there’s dirt from the street again. We try to keep things organized by color, but that doesn't always last long during a busy week. Working on Vasta Devdi Road means you hear a lot of horns and shouting from the street. It’s loud. We just keep our heads down and get the work done. The shop has been here at number 1 Bahuchar Bhavan for a good bit. We aren't doing anything revolutionary, just selling clothes and making sure the counts are right at the end of the day. It is honest work and it keeps us occupied throughout the year without too much fuss or trouble.
