Our workplace is located at B-3 in the Dangigev Society, which is tucked right behind the Satyanarayan Society in Surat. We are close to the Kapodra Cross Road on Varachha Road. It’s a busy part of the city, and finding a parking spot for a scooter can be a real struggle some mornings. Here at Solectron Ems India Ltd, we focus on the hands-on side of electronics. The office isn't anything fancy to look at. We have a few long tables, some soldering stations, and shelves full of components that we use every day. It’s a bit cramped when we get a big shipment in, but we manage. The neighborhood is mostly residential and small shops, so it feels quite local. You can hear the sounds of the street vendors and the traffic from the cross road all day long. We don't really have a formal reception area or a big sign out front. Most people who come here are just delivery drivers or folks we’ve known for years. We do our work, drink a lot of tea, and try to stay cool when the humidity hits in the afternoons. Sometimes the power flutters and we have to wait a minute for things to reset. It is just part of working in this area. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to get our orders finished on time and keep things moving. It’s a decent place to spend the day.
