Our office is located at 69 Jai Ambe Society in Surat. We’ve been based in the Adajan Patia area for quite some time now. It’s a residential neighborhood mostly, so it’s a bit different from the usual commercial hubs you see in Gujarat. We have people coming in and out all day, mostly staff checking their schedules or picking up their uniforms. The security business is a lot of logistics and talking to people on the phone. We spend most of our time coordinating where everyone needs to be. It gets busy in the mornings when the shifts change over. Sometimes the office gets a bit cramped with all the files we have to keep. We don’t have any fancy signs or a glass front. It’s just a functional space inside the society. Most of us have been working here for years, so we know each other's families and how everyone likes their coffee. The weather in Surat can be brutal in the summer, so the AC is always running, though it makes a weird rattling noise sometimes. We just focus on keeping track of the guards and making sure everyone shows up on time for their post. It’s a lot of mundane work, but it’s important to keep things running smoothly. If you ever walk by Jai Ambe Society, you’ll probably see a few of us standing outside during lunch.
