You can find Mita Dress Makers over at Silver Spring Complex, right across from the Shree Ram Petrol Pump on Anand Mahal Road. We have been at G- 42 for some time. It is a handy spot because everyone knows the petrol pump nearby. Inside, it is usually a bit of a mess with thread, needles, and fabric scraps everywhere. We do a lot of sewing and fixing things up. The sewing machines make a constant humming noise that you eventually stop hearing after a few hours of work. It is a small shop, but we manage to fit everything we need into the space. Sometimes the fabric deliveries arrive late, and we have to shuffle our whole schedule around. We do not really have a big staff, just a couple of us who know how to handle a needle and thread. Customers come in with their ideas, and we try to figure out how to make it work. It is not always easy, especially with tricky patterns or slippery fabrics. There is a lot of measuring and re-measuring involved to make sure things fit right. We have some old mirrors on the wall that have seen better days. It is just a regular local tailoring place. We do not do anything flashy. Most of our day is spent bent over a table or a machine. It gets tiring on the back, but we are used to it by now. We just focus on the task at hand.
