About Sihora Lace India – Fashion & Trends in Surat
Finding us requires going up to the 2nd floor of the City Industrial Estate, which is right opposite the main road traffic. The estate is always loud because of the various businesses running there at all hours. You can hear machines hum and people shouting across the loading docks downstairs. We occupy units 21 and 22. It is mostly a space filled with rolls of lace and spools of thread. The air smells a bit like dust and fabric, which is normal for this kind of industrial work. We spend most of our hours sorting through orders and making sure the lace is rolled properly so it does not tangle up. The stairs can be a bit of a climb if you are carrying heavy boxes, but we do it several times a day. We do not have a big sign or a fancy entrance at the front. People usually come here because they know we have what they are looking for in terms of trimmings and lace. The lighting inside is functional, just enough to see the patterns clearly on the rolls. Sometimes the elevator in the building acts up, so we end up using the back stairs more than we would like. It is a busy place, especially when the industrial estate gets crowded with trucks in the morning. We just stay in our corner on the second floor and get the work done. It is not a glamorous job, but we have been doing it this way for years.
