Millennium Textile Market is a huge place. If you go to M- 3710- 13, that is where you will find us. We handle a lot of different things here at Shubham Fashions Surat. It is mostly just moving boxes and talking to people who come in from out of town. The market is always moving and shaking. Trucks are coming in and out all the time near the loading docks. It gets very busy around the holidays. We start early, usually before the sun gets too high in the sky. My cousins work here with me sometimes when we have a lot of orders. We keep the tea kettle going throughout the day. The shop isn't anything special to look at, just lots of shelves and rolls of fabric piled high. We spend a lot of time on the phone or checking our handwritten lists. Sometimes we make small mistakes on the orders, but we always fix them. It is just how business goes. The air in the market feels heavy with the smell of new cloth and plastic. We have a small desk in the corner where we do the accounts. Most people who come here are looking for something specific for their own shops back home. We don't do much talking unless it is about the work at hand. After we close up, we are usually pretty tired. But then we come back the next morning.
