Shree Umiya Mobile

Located at 202 Bharthana Hill Road, our shop is a place where we mostly deal with mobile phones. It’s not a very big space, so we have to be careful about where we put all the boxes of new stock. Most of the time, I'm at the back bench working on a phone that won't turn on or has a broken charging port. It’s fiddly work that requires a steady hand and some patience. We sell a lot of the basic accessories like earphones and protective cases because everyone seems to lose or break theirs. The road outside can get quite steep, and we get a lot of people stopping in while they're walking up the hill. We have a small television in the corner that we keep on for the news, but mostly it's just background noise. The shelves are made of wood and have been there since we opened, so they look a bit worn down now. I keep a log of all the repairs in a thick notebook under the counter. Sometimes parts take a few days to arrive, and I have to call customers to let them know, which is the part of the job I like least. People around here are mostly friendly and don't mind waiting a bit if we're busy. We try to keep things straightforward and don't use any complicated talk. It’s just us trying to make a living in the neighborhood and providing a service that people need.
