Shree Krishna Fashion

Our workshop is located at P-187 on the second floor in the Old G.I.D.C area on Sumul Dery Road. It’s right in Katargam, which is a very busy industrial part of the city. Being on the second floor means we have to carry everything up the stairs, which keeps us in shape I guess. We focus on fashion items and have a few machines running most of the day. The sound of the needles is something you just get used to after a while. It’s a bit of a loud environment because of all the other units in the GIDC. We have a small balcony where we sometimes take breaks to watch the trucks loading and unloading below. The floor is usually covered in thread scraps and little bits of fabric by the end of the shift. We don’t have a fancy entrance or a receptionist. You just walk in and see us working. It’s a practical space designed for getting things done. We spend a lot of time checking the seams and making sure the buttons are on right. It’s not glamorous work, but it pays the bills. My family has been doing this kind of thing for a long time. We know most of the other shop owners in the building. We help each other out if someone runs out of supplies or needs a hand with something heavy. It's a tight-knit place despite all the noise and dust of the industrial estate.
