About Shree Gajanand Mobile & Watch – Telecom in Surat
If you come down to Parvat 3, you'll find our little shop where we handle mobiles and watches. It’s a small place, mostly filled with glass cases for the different phone covers and watch straps we keep. I spend a lot of my time hunched over a desk with a magnifying glass, trying to fix a watch movement or swap out a cracked phone screen. My eyes get tired by the end of the day from looking at those tiny screws. We have a lot of people coming in just for a quick battery change or to get a new tempered glass put on their phone. The street outside is usually quite noisy, which we’ve just gotten used to over the years. We keep a variety of wall clocks on the back wall, and sometimes they all chime at slightly different times, which sounds a bit funny. It’s just a regular local shop where we try to keep things organized, though the drawers are always full of old cables and spare parts. My wife helps me keep the accounts on a ledger book instead of a computer because it’s just easier for us. We don't have any big signs or bright lights, just the usual display. Customers usually live nearby and stop by while they’re out doing their other shopping. Sometimes someone brings in an old mechanical watch that takes a lot of patience to get running again. It’s quiet work mostly.
