Our spot is in the Radha Krishna Textile Market, specifically A-1010-11. If you know the Ring Road, you know how hectic it gets around here. It’s a lot of stairs and narrow hallways filled with stacks of fabric. Every morning starts with unlocking the shutters and seeing what needs to be done. We’ve got these two units together, which gives us a bit more room to breathe, but it still feels small once the stock starts piling up. It’s hot in the summer, and the fans just move the warm air around, but we don't mind much. We’re usually too busy sorting through the latest arrivals or packing things up for delivery. The market is loud, there’s always someone shouting or a cart rattling past the door. We drink a lot of chai to keep going. It isn't a glamorous life, just staying on top of the orders and making sure the shop stays in some kind of order. Sometimes we lose track of time because there are no windows to the outside world, just the bright lights of the market corridor. We’ve been in this market for some time, and we know most of the neighbors. We help each other out when someone needs a hand moving a heavy bale. It’s just how things work on the Ring Road. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
