Shivam Mobile Care

Our shop sits along the stretch of Varachha Road and RC Dutt Road, which means there is never a quiet moment. Shivam Mobile Care is basically a room full of gadgets and tools. Most days start with us clearing off the workbench from the repairs we couldn't finish the night before. Everyone seems to have a cracked screen or a battery that won't hold a charge these days. We see a lot of people who are quite stressed because their whole life is on their phone and now it won't turn on. We try to be straight with them about what can be fixed and what’s probably gone for good. The lights are bright so we can see the tiny circuits, and the walls are lined with all sorts of colorful phone cases that nobody can ever seem to choose between. We have a small stool for customers to sit on while they wait, though most people just stand and watch us work. The traffic outside is a constant hum of horns and engines. Sometimes we have to shout a bit to be heard over the noise. It’s a small operation, just a few of us who are good with our hands. We don't spend much on decorations because the tools take up all the space. We just stay here, opening up the small screws and trying to get things working again for the people in the neighborhood. It’s what we know how to do.
