Vishal Fashion is tucked away at number 49 inside the Shantinagar Industrial Society. Being out here in the Anjana Farm area means we are surrounded by rolls of fabric, stacks of thread, and the constant rhythmic sound of sewing machines. It is a hardworking neighborhood and we fit right in with the rest of the businesses here. Our space is mostly taken up by cloth and finished pieces that are boxed up and waiting to be shipped out. It is not a showroom for customers; it is a working workshop where things actually get made. The lighting in the back is not always the best, but we have been here long enough to know where every single item is stored. We spend most of our hours checking seams and making sure the colors match up like they are supposed to. It has a family-run feel to it even if we are not all actually related. We have been doing this for a long time and we know that people just want clothes that look okay and do not fall apart after the first wash. We do not use any fancy language to describe what we do. We just cut the fabric, sew the pieces together, and pack them up. Sometimes the floor is completely covered in scraps of thread by the end of the day. We just sweep it up and start over again the next morning.
