Satyam Fashion

Satyam Fashion is up on the fifth floor of the Kohinoor Textile Market. Being in shop A-5001 means we see a lot of people coming through the elevators every day. The market is always buzzing with noise from the early morning until late evening. Our space is mostly taken up by boxes and samples. We spend a lot of time sorting through things and making sure the orders are packed right. It gets a bit hot up here since the air doesn't move as much as it does on the ground floor. We usually have the radio playing quietly in the corner to break up the sounds of the packing tape and the shouting from the hallway. There isn't much to the shop besides the counters and the racks. We’ve had this spot for a while and the neighbors are all pretty much the same people we've known for years. Sometimes we share a cup of tea when things are slow. The floor can get dusty from all the cardboard and the fabric scraps, but we sweep it out when we can. It’s a busy life in this part of the city. We don't bother with anything fancy like decorations or big posters. We just show up, open the door, and get to work on whatever needs doing that day. It's a simple way of working, but it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday without much of a break in between.
