Sarita The Mobile Shop

Being on Surat Main Road means there is never a dull moment. The shop at 41276 is right where all the action is. Sarita The Mobile Shop is a small space, but we keep it full. We have mobile phones displayed in the front window so people walking by can see them. The glass gets dusty from the main road traffic, so we are always cleaning it. Inside, it's a bit of a narrow walk between the counters. We have all kinds of things hanging from the ceiling—mostly data cables and earphones in their plastic packaging. The ceiling fan spins fast but mostly just moves the warm air around. We have a small radio that plays local music in the background. Most of our customers are locals who have been living in Surat for years. They stop by to chat as much as they do to buy anything. We sell a lot of tempered glass protectors and spend a good portion of the day trying to stick them on without getting bubbles underneath. It’s tricky work when the shop is full of people. We keep a stash of spare parts in some plastic bins under the counter. The floor is old linoleum that has seen better days. When the sun starts to set, the neon signs from the other shops on Main Road start to glow. We usually stay open until quite late because that’s when it’s busiest.
